The Minister of Health: “I identified doctors who have issued around two to three hundred medical holidays a day” / “These fictitious medical holidays cost us a lot”

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, spoke on Sunday for B1 TV about the action of the control body regarding the “fictitious” medical leave, a “phenomenon” says that “it costs us a lot”.
He said he started the control action as the data of the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) highlighted “an aberrant growth” of medical leave “just before the free days, May 1, June 1, the legal holidays, those days when those bridges are made between two or three days, if you do not respect,
“Seeing this graph, which does not look okay, or does not retain a normal trend, I ordered this control body. It is divided into two categories, the control mission. Some doctors “have released around two to three hundred medical holidays per day”
Alexandru Rogobete, who said that he does not want to generalize and “misunderstand that we run after all the doctors in Romania”, said that “there are in certain counties a growing trend, which we can call exceptions from the number of average holidays that are granted annually”, as well as “there are, indeed, certain specialties”.
“We have identified certain doctors who have issued around two or three hundred medical leave per day, this is not possible. Because a medical leave is not only a document that a doctor or nurse complements. He has a medical check-up, investigations, diagnoses,” added Minister Alexandru Rogobete.
The Minister of Health stressed that in the country “there are exceptional doctors”.
“In Romania, and I want to publicly send this message, and I take it completely, there are exceptional doctors. There are exceptional medical staff, who stay over the program, doctors and nurses who come home at night, doctors who do more guards than they have normative, to cover the guards' graph, doctors who are with the patients, who are not, Health in the back, but, as in any system, there are exceptions, my intention is to limit these exceptions as much as possible, because they have created a phenomenon, ”Rogobete continued.
On the other hand, he said that “this phenomenon and these fictitious medical leave cost us a lot.”
“I cannot accept to take from the mouth of the patient in the hospital, important amounts of money, we are talking about a few billion cumulative for these medical leave, to pay the invented holidays of some people who, please, did not find another option,” concluded the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete.
