The leading soloist of the Mariinsky Theater died 39-year-old Vladimir Shklyarov-this information is confirmed by his colleague in the workshop, ballerina Irina Barnovskaya.
The reasons for the incident are not yet called, the dancer wrote that it was a “terrible tragedy” and asked to respect the memory of Shklyarov.
Vladimir came to the troupe of Mariinsky 11 years ago and during this time he earned the highest professional status of a ballet soloist, and four years ago received the title of Honored Artist of Russia. Shklyarov performed in the “Sleeping Beauty”, “Don Quixote”, “Swan Lake”.
