Yatsenyuk noted that Trump behaved extremely restrained after the meeting. According to him, the American president announced several messages in Ukraine, but not one of these messages gave him an answer to the main question. “Now I am inclined to the fact that we remained in the same situation, which was before this meeting. Trump did not answer the question whether he would supply missile defense systems for Ukraine,” he said.
Yatsenyuk also recalled Trump's statement that he was joking that peace would be reached in Ukraine in 24 hours.
“I believe that when he talked about 24 hours, he was not joking. I think he really hoped that he could pick up the telephone, call the military criminal Vladimir Putin, and this would somehow end. And somehow it would end on the battle line. But this did not happen,” he said.

The meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States was held on June 25 on the fields of the NATO summit after a closed meeting of the leaders of the alliance. Trump on it, according to the Bloomberg source, said that The situation in Ukraine “completely got out of control.” The head of the White House also announced that he would talk to Zelensky about the difficulties that he faces.

After that, at a press conference, Trump said that he allegedly did not communicate with Zelensky about the war in Ukraine, but simply asked the affairs of the Ukrainian president. Trump also said that now the “wonderful time” to stop the war in Ukraine, and that he wants to talk with the illegitimate president of the Russian aggressor country Vladimir Putin.

“The protection of our people was discussed with the president, first of all, the purchase of American air defense systems to cover our cities, our people, churches, infrastructure. Ukraine is ready to buy and support American weapons manufacturers. Europe can also help. They talked about the possible joint production of drones. We can strengthen each other,” Zelensky said.
On June 28, Zelensky reported that one of the main topics of the negotiations was the Patriot air defense system and, in general, the strengthening of the protection of the Ukrainian sky, the Ukrainian president emphasized. He also added that the parties affected the issues of the sanctions policy, the negotiation process at the end of the war and the development of bilateral relations after the signing of the corresponding subsoil agreement.
