Great cuts in a known network. Four halls and 400 jobs will disappear


The network intends to close its halls in Rybnik, Słupsk, Toruń and Zabrze by the end of September.

“This step is part of a broader transformation, which aims to the company's long-term concentration in the Horec sector (i.e. the hotel and gastronomic sector) through the development of food supplies and digital solutions and on traditional trade, which requires a different approach to the changing needs of customers”-explained in the company's announcement.

“This decision is a response to structural cost pressure and a high level of operational costs inflation,” added Makro Cash and Carry Polska representatives. The company added that it intends to provide released “necessary support in preparation for searching for new employment opportunities”.
