We get rid of summer shoes: sneakers and ballet shoes no longer “smell” like a minibus in the heat

Summer is the heat, walks and … an unpleasant surprise: the shoes begin to smell so that it is a shame, and the shoe cabinet in the hallway turns into a torture camera. I don’t want to buy new sneakers and expensive deodorants, but it is impossible to endure the smell. Good news: there is a detailed plan that has already saved more than one couple of shoes this summer.

  1. First, take out insoles and laces – let the shoes “take a look”, and all the details separately go to the washing.
  2. Wipe the shoes with a cotton pad with 9% vinegar from the inside. Bacteria die, and the vinegar smell itself quickly disappears.
  3. Pour 1 teaspoon of soda inside and leave it overnight. She will pull the remnants of the smell and moisture.
  4. Wash insoles with household soap and dry well.
  5. Dry the shoes in the sun or at the fan – the sun perfectly finishes the unpleasant odor, but do not leave for a long time so that the fabric does not burn out.
  6. Treat inside pharmacy boric acid or chlorhexidine – the spray disinfects and neutralizes any “aromas”.
  7. Drop a drop of lavender or lemon essential oil – there will be a light fresh smell and not a drop of humidity.

Additional tips from the TG channel “Marina Zhukova, housewife, expert, blogger” (16+):

If the smell is strong, throw the shoes for a couple of hours in the freezer, of course, having previously put in a bag – the bacteria disappear with the “amber”. Children's pouring and starch also work perfectly instead of soda, and the newspaper will eliminate all the extra moisture.
