Unknown people started a fire in a pine forest near Minusinsk (video)

In the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, unknown persons started a fire in a pine forest. The press service of the regional Forest Fire Center reported about the incident.

It all happened the night before in the vicinity of Minusinsk. A message about smoke noticed in the forest was received by the local forest fire station from the fire department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. A team of 4 people in a fire truck was immediately sent to the scene.

“When we arrived at the indicated coordinates, we saw a fire with a saucepan lying next to it. Apparently, they tried to extinguish the fire: they dug with a shovel and threw earth at it. But they didn’t put it out, and the flames began to disperse. We filled the smoldering areas with water from a fire truck and prevented the fire from spreading to the forest», — said the head of the Minusinsk LPS Alexander Udalov.

The Forest Fire Center reminded that they will be looking for the culprits of the fire. They may face a fine for violating fire safety rules. Citizens will pay up to 60 thousand rubles, officials — up to 110 thousand rubles, and legal — up to 2 million rubles. In addition, the culprit will compensate for damage caused to the forest fund, and extinguishing costs. Also, depending on the damage caused, criminal charges may be filed.
