“We were friends for a long time, and suddenly…” The love story of Sumskaya and Khostikoev is 30 years long

The future spouses met long before an affair began between them. Khostikoev and Sumskaya played on the same stage of the Ivan Franko Kyiv Theater for many years before the start of their relationship. The actor has already been divorced twice – from actresses Nadezhda Kondratovskaya and Lyubov Kubyuk. And Sumskaya was married to cinematographer Igor Mamai.

However, close cooperation connected Khostikoev not only with Natalya, but also with her sister Olga Sumskaya. It was they who played the married couple of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman and his Ukrainian wife Anastasia Lisovskaya in the cult TV series of the 1990s “Roksolana”. Already while working on the role, the actor was in a relationship with Natalya Sumskaya.

The actors do not say when exactly their romance began. In 1996, their son Vyacheslav was born, but they officially legalized their relationship only three years after the birth of the child. Now Khostikoev, Sumskaya and their son are playing on the stage of the Ivan Franko Theater. The whole cast even appears in several performances – “Peerless” and “Suite for Foreigners”.

How could I have thought then at the institute that this girl would become my destiny! Life is unexpected and beautiful!”

Sumskaya never hid her feelings for her husband, admired his talent and called him “handsome.”

“I love his work on stage,” noted Sumskaya. “I have never seen more beautiful people in my life.” He has such an ability to transform. Of course, it’s impossible not to fall in love with such a handsome man and a powerful personality.”
