The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, discussed on Friday on the phone with her French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, a context in which they reconfirmed the strategic partnership between the two countries and addressed several topics, according to the announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Țoiu had a telephone conversation with the French minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs today, Jean-Noël Barrot. The two dignitaries reconfirmed the strategic partnership between Romania and France and discussed areas of common interest, as well as the recent developments at international level,” the MAE wrote in the statement.
The field of defense was also on the agenda of the discussion.
“The discussions also concerned the field of defense and the way of implementing the decisions made at the NATO summit in The Hague, as well as the trade, investments and cultural cooperation. Both parties reaffirmed their agencies to the common values and for a stronger and united Europe,” concluded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Oana Țoiu took over the mandate of Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, from Emil Hurezeanu, and then participated in the NATO-Ukraine Council in the margin of the NATO summit in The Hague. In the Netherlands, the new head of Romanian diplomacy also discussed with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio, according to the details made by President Nicușor Dan in the press conference on Wednesday.
