The Chinese Civil Aviation Administration has announced the introduction of a ban on transporting powerbanki from Saturday without 3C security certification and devices withdrawn by manufacturers. The new regulations are to increase flight safety due to numerous incidents, including fires caused by batteries.

The new rules announced on Thursday concern all passengers who get on planes in China. They are a reaction to a series of events involving products with lithium batteries. The ban does not apply to devices with the “China Compulsory Certification” certificate.
Little batteries in devices can cause smoke or open fire as a result of a short circuit.
The media remind you that the probable cause of the Air Busan fire in January was the ignition of the external battery, and in March the Hong Kong Airlines machine landed in emergency due to a fire in the storage.
The American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recorded in 2023 on average three incidents related to batteries for two weeks, says Reuters.
Globally, the airlines sharpen the rules, usually requiring the external batteries to be in hand luggage and visible. China has been forbidding charging devices with powerbank during flights since 2014.
