In the summer heat, sponges in the kitchen begin to smell like a garbage bucket, I want to immediately throw it out. Change it every week – you won’t attack any money. But there is a very simple, but effective way to resuscitate kitchen sponges. Experienced and economical housewives have been using it for a long time-they shared in the Zen channel “House, Kitchen, cottage-life hacks” (16+). The trick not only saves your money, but also surprises with its effectiveness.
Everything is very simple – take the old sponge and put it in a deep bowl or glass. Pour boiling water so that it completely covers the sponge. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and literally a couple of drops of any vinegar, even apple, at least ordinary.
Leave all this for 5 minutes – during this time hot water will kill microbes, salt will pull out all the dirt, and vinegar will remove the smelly smell. Remove the sponge, rinse under cold water – and that’s it. There is no more smell, the sponge is again soft and clean. This method really saves in the summer: sponges last longer, and the kitchen smells fresh.
