Many miracles were associated with the name of the Prophet: the healing of the sick and the resurrection of the dead, the multiplication of bare and bread grain. At the same time, Elisha is often portrayed by a tough and even cruel person. In Rus' on Elisha, they continued to sow buckwheat. They usually did this in clear and dry weather. “If the dust is on the harrow, then the pancake is on the grout,” the peasants said. Buckwheat was an extremely important culture for the Russian people. Special proverbs and sayings were even added to her: “buckwheat porridge is our mother, and the bread is rye – our father.”
Although they sowed buckwheat in a dry field, after sowing it was needed to rain – so that the seeds sprouted faster. To do this, people conjured nettle, asked her to burn heaven so that the downpour would pour out from there.
