With the support of enterprises of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, several educational institutions in the region received new spaces

With the support of the Melnichenko Foundation, Siberian Generating Company and SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, this academic year several educational institutions in the region received new spaces – from high-tech laboratories to stylish recreational areas, changing the attitude of students and schoolchildren to their studies and future profession.

“We wanted to create a comfortable educational environment for students and motivate them to master in-demand professions. They also sought to help form an idea of the enterprises where they will soon be working. The modern design of the new educational spaces reflects the growing prestige of technical specialties among young people,” noted Alexandra Didenko, Deputy General Director of the Melnichenko Foundation, Director of the Education department.

Instead of the usual walls there is a bright design and stylish lighting, in place of outdated stands there are modern “transformers”, on each of which you can perform up to 20 different laboratory works. Like, for example, at the Krasnoyarsk Aerospace College, where practical classes became much more effective after the appearance of a new laboratory for the technical operation of electrical equipment. General Director of the Yenisei TGC (a division of the SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region) Oleg Bubnovsky noted that the new educational space creates a direct bridge between theory and real production.

“Thanks to this platform, students already in college begin to understand how power equipment works in production. Therefore, when they come to enterprises, they will be able to quickly adapt to the workplace.” “Practice in our specialty is the main factor,” Artem Zheltyakov, a student at the Krasnoyarsk Aerospace College, confirms the words of the leader. “In the future, we will have to work with real equipment, so it is important to hone our skills and make possible mistakes here at the school.”

The systematic work of the Melnichenko Foundation, SGK and SUEK-Krasnoyarsk also covers schools, where today they are forming an interest in engineering and blue-collar professions within the framework of the educational and career guidance project Profclasses.FM. In gymnasium No. 9 in Nazarovo, with the participation of the Nazarovo State District Power Plant and the Melnichenko Foundation, a recreational area has appeared, which weekly turns into a career guidance headquarters for students in energy classes. The space is not just equipped with comfortable furniture, every detail has been thought out here, including charging stations and information stands with success stories and career trajectories in the energy sector.

“Our enterprises show that for them, the education of children is concrete actions that lead to results here and now,” says Yanina Chentsova, a student of the 11th Profklass.FM gymnasium No. 9 in Nazarovo. “The most important thing is that our interest in learning increases thanks to such work and interaction. From the information they show us, we form certain connections, and interest in working in the fuel and energy complex increases, as well as a growing desire to take the energy industry to a new level.”

Future coal miners, students of the V.P. Astafiev Mining Technical College in the village of Irsha (Rybinsk Municipal District) and Sharypovsky Multidisciplinary College, where, with the support of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk and the Melnichenko Foundation, opened modern branded areas, are also confident that the updated spaces are becoming entry points into the profession. Here, students not only relax, but also prepare for classes on their laptops and get acquainted with the history of coal mining enterprises. The miners themselves call such projects “long-term investments” in the human resources potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the future of the coal industry.

Coal miners and power engineers begin to form this personnel potential from school, including through the transformation of the educational environment. For example, at Borodino School No. 1, the third floor hall was turned into a co-working area. As the schoolchildren note, the space is thought out to the smallest detail. Meetings with specialists from coal mining enterprises, career guidance quizzes, debates and many other useful activities are regularly held here.

It is worth noting that behind the opening of recreational spaces there is not a one-time charity, but a built-in system. SUEK-Krasnoyarsk launched a project of corporate labor teams back in 2005, and specialized classes have been operating since 2013. Today, high school students in the cities where the Company is responsible spend a lot of time directly at the enterprises, getting acquainted with production.

Creating modern recreational and educational spaces in schools and colleges in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is not just about improving the interiors. This is a conscious business policy aimed at competent training of highly qualified personnel, at creating a decent environment in the region for young people who will develop their native territory. The Melnichenko Foundation, SGK and SUEK-Krasnoyarsk help educational institutions develop not just specialists, but motivated, interested people who are ready to take the baton for the development of domestic energy.
