The German football federation was fined for tax evasion. Three officials received convictions

The German Football Federation (DFB) was found guilty of tax evasion. It is the sentence with which the “summer fairy tale”, related to the 2006 World Championship, won by the national football nation of Italy, has ended. Thus, DFB will have to pay a fine 110,000 euros.

The trial started in March 2024 watched the flow of payments related to the final tournament of 2006. During the trial, DFB was found bearing by a tax evasion of 2.7 million euros.

Three leaders have reached the court: Theo Zwangizer, Wolfgang Niersbach and Horst R. Smith. The ones woke up with fines of 10,000, 25,000, respectively 65,000 euros.

DFB will have to pay a fine of 130,000 euros, but received a derogation of 20,000 euros.
