The Central Bank of Russia said that he has been obliged by the largest banks and trading companies to give customers the opportunity to use digital ruble from September 1, 2026. The corresponding proposal was sent to the State Duma.

The digital form of the national currency, which was created to expand the possibilities of payments and transfers. Digital rubles will be in circulation along with cash and non -cash.
Citizens will be able to open one digital wallet on the Bank of Russia platform for free and use it through their bank. You will not have to pay for service. Payment for purchases with digital rubles will be held on a universal QR code.
All banks will have to technically prepare for working with him until September 1, 2026. The terms when they will have to connect the universal QR code to sellers will determine the Central Bank.
