It was established that one of the victims of the fraud was an 88-year-old local resident. An unknown person called her and warned that all the bills of her accumulations were “swept” and they urgently need to be declared. The attacker convinced his grandmother to transfer money to the courier for exchange for the real ones. She believed and gave 2 million rubles to the guy who arrived, and after a while she realized that she had become a victim of criminals and announced the police.
The operatives established the identity of the courier, who was also involved in the theft of 2.5 million rubles from a resident of Kansk. “He admitted that he responded to one of the messengers to an ad to become a courier for transferring cash. The guy received them from the elderly and transferred them to these accounts, leaving a part of the amount, ”the police said.
According to these facts, a criminal case has been instituted under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”, at present, the detainee is checked for involvement in the commission of similar crimes.
