The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski informed that he talked to the US President Donald Trump during the meeting on the margins of the peak in the Hague of the Hague about steps to achieve a truce and real peace. He added that he appreciates the attention of the United States regarding the approximation of peace.

“A long and significant meeting with President Trump. We discussed all really important issues. Thank you to the president, thank you to the United States. We talked about how to achieve a suspension of weapons and a real peace” – wrote Zelanski on Platform X.

The head of the Ukrainian state added that he also talked to the US president about the protection of Ukrainian citizens. “We appreciate the attention and willingness to help at approximately peace,” he noted.

Zelanski assured that he would pass all the details of the meeting at a later date.

The presidents of Ukraine and the USA met on the margins of the NATO summit, the meeting lasted nearly 50 minutes – the suspilne portal informed.

The previous meeting of the leaders took place on April 26 in Rome, when Zelnski and Trump participated in the funeral of Pope Francis.

Trump: We'll see if we can give Ukraine patriots

We will see if we can provide Ukraine with additional Patriot rocket systems – said US President Donald Trump on Wednesday during a press conference at the end of the NATO summit in Hague. He admitted, however, that these systems are “very difficult to get”.

“Yes, it's true, they (Ukraine – PAP) want to have rocket systems, patriots, and we'll see if we can make them a little available. They are very difficult to get” – emphasized Trump, answering the question of a journalist from Ukraine.

“We need them because we delivered them to Israel. They are very effective, 100 % effective. And (Ukrainians) want it more than anything else, as you probably know” – he added, wishing the success of a journalist whose husband is a soldier on the front.

Trump also said: “We'll see what will happen,” asked if the US will allocate further funds to support Ukraine.

“Vladimir Putin really has to end this war,” he declared. (PAP)
