In Australia, 40-year-old Timothy Rowland and the victim after the evening in the bar came to the man in the apartment, took the bath together, after which she fell asleep in his bed.
In the morning, the woman woke up and realized that Rowland was raping her. She pushed the man and escaped. After that, the victim announced the police about what had happened.
The accused managed to prove in court that at that moment he had an attack of sexy – a rare disorder in which people show sexual activity during sleep.
The judge said that a person cannot be found guilty of a crime that he committed unconsciously. In addition, according to the judge, in Australia there are no laws prohibiting suffering from insomnia or perform any actions in the presence of this disease.
The jury acquitted Rowland.
