Andrei Coubiș (22 years old), the player loaned by U Cluj this winter from Sampdoria, will definitely stay with the “red caps” at the end of this season.
The young defender has already made 6 appearances for U Cluj, thus activating the clause whereby the Transylvanian player will stay permanently, who will pay 125,000 euros for the transfer, according to primasport.ro.
In fact, Andrei Coubiș impressed even the selector Mircea Lucescu. According to the information obtained by GSP.ro, “Il Luce” is considering calling up the young defender, who marked the first 6 senior matches at U Cluj.
Andrei Coubiș, definitive transfer to U Cluj
Brought on loan from Sampdoria during the mercato period this winter, Andrei Coubiș impressed with his developments. The Romanian defender made his debut for U Cluj in the victory against Unirea Slobozia on January 24, when he was introduced at half-time.
Later, he was an unused reserve in the away win with Rapid, score 2-0, and then he was a starter and integral player in the success with FC Argeș, score 3-1. Then followed the lost derby with CFR Cluj, score 2-3, in which he remained only on the reserve bench.
Since then, Coubiș has been integral in 4 consecutive matches, 2-0 with Oțelul Galați in the Romanian Cup, 4-1 with Csikszereda, 3-1 with FC Botoşani and 4-0 with Oțelul Galaţi, the last 3 games being played in the Super League.
In fact, Coubiș scored a goal each in the matches against Oțelui and provided a decisive assist in the match with FC Botoşani.
Thus, Andrei Coubiș will be permanently transferred by U Cluj from Sampdoria for the sum of 125,000 euros.
Andrei Coubiș was trained in Italy at AC Milan's academy. He was loaned for half a season at Sampdoria, but he failed to establish himself and decided to come to U Cluj to get as many minutes as possible in the seniors, in the form of a loan. Coubiș was born in Milan and is at his first experience in Romanian football.
