The Krasnoyarsk branch of the RGO was recognized as the most effective in Russia

According to the results of 2024, the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the All -Russian Public Organization “Russian Geographical Society” took first place in Russia in the ranking of regional branches of the Russian State Register, according to the government of the region. Krasnoyarsk residents head the rating for the second year in a row, this is the first case in the modern history of the RGO. Prior to this, 6 years of the Krasnoyarsk regional department was steadily included in the five best, and in 2022 it received second place.

“It is important not to stop. It is very significant for us that in the year of the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, we continue to go forward. And this is the result of the hard, systematic work of the Great RGO team, formed in recent years in the region, all our many friends and partners, the public and, of course, the entire Krasnoyarsk Territory. Next year, the Krasnoyarsk regional department of the Russian State Register will celebrate its 125th anniversary, so we are not reducing the momentum, ”said Igor Spirinko, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk regional department of the RGO.

The head of the department recalled that the Krasnoyarsk regional department is one of the oldest in Russia. It was opened in 1901. The RGO stood at the origins of the creation of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore and the Minusinsk Museum of Local Lore. N.M. Martyanova, members of the society helped to preserve the unique natural complex “Pillars”.

Now the regional compartment continues glorious traditions. In 2018, they received a prize for the project “Board Tyurikov. Return ”in the RGO Prize, and in 2020, during the Universiade, the Cape Chelyuskin project was implemented and received a prize of the National Crystal Comass Prize for it. And in 2022, the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the RGO received the “large silver medal of the Russian Geographical Society.”

One of the key partners of the Department is the Siberian Academy of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia. The Board of Trustees of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society is headed by the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov.
