Chinese mosquito drone. How does it work and what will it be used for in the army?

As reported by the Hong Kong Jouth China Morning Post, the Laboratory in Hunan presented several breakthrough projects, including humanoid machines and probably the smallest drone in the world. The device is so small that it fits between the fingers of the human hand. Equipped with two wings reminiscent of leaves and three thin “feet”, the drone is distinguished by its precision and minimalist design. Scientists also presented a prototype with four wings, which can be controlled using an application on a smartphone.
The production of this type of device is associated with serious technological challenges. As Chinese experts notice, miniaturization of each element is necessary – from sensors, through power systems, to control systems. Such an advanced project requires the cooperation of specialists in various fields.
Chinese drone versus Norwegian: PD-100 Black Hornet
Currently, the smallest drone available on the market is the Norwegian PD-100 Black Hornet, which measures only 10 centimeters long and resembles a miniature helicopter. Created for reconnaissance missions, it can scout within one kilometer for a maximum of 25 minutes.
The Norwegian drone is already equipped with the army in Germany, the USA, Australia, Norway, France and – from 2019 – in Poland. In our country, it supports the actions of a commando military unit from Lubliniec – says Polsat News.
A new era in military technology? The Chinese drone can be a revolution
The Chinese mosquito drone design can revolutionize the way combat and reconnaissance activities. Although scientists are still a lot of challenges, miniaturization of this type of device can open completely new possibilities in the field of modern military technologies.
