Tensioned moments took place at the end of the match in round 1 at Bad Homburg Open, lost by Yulia Putitseva (30 years, #27 WTA) in front of Maria Sakkari (29 years, #86 WTA), score 5-7, 6-7 (6). The two tennis players addressed their insults to the net, with the end of the match that lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes.

Disappointed by the defeat, Putitseva began the conflict, and the two players were arguing for a few seconds, throwing suburban words to the other. The chair referee had to intervene to calm the spirits.

Much of the quarrel did not hear because of the sound background that was heard on the central land, but a response of Putetseva caused Sakkari to follow her to her bank.

At the end of the match, the two tennis players met at the net to shake their hand, but the Kazakhstan player had an inappropriate attitude and addressed harsh words to Greek.

Sakkari, visibly disturbed by the opponent's gesture, told her: “Behave like a man!”, To which Putitseva replied harshly: “Go f ** k yourself!”, Gestricating to Sakkari to leave her alone.

Sakkari then told the opponent: “No one likes you,” Putitseva seems to swear in English: “F ** King C ** t!”.

Putetseva made a sarcastic bow in Sakkari's direction, saying “Thank you very much”, and the quarrel continued even after she left the ground.

It was the fourth direct meeting between the 2 tennis. The first victory belonged to the player in Kazakhstan, and the next 3 matches were won by Maria Sakkari. The 2 players never met at a Grand Slam.

The beneficiary of a Wild-card at the Bad Homburg tournament, Maria Sakkari will play in the next round with the winner between Favorita 8, Ekaterina Alexandrova (30, #18 WTA), and Swiss Belinda Bencic (28 years old, #35 WTA).
