Revitalization of Sanato sanatorium. Exclusive hotel in plans

The former Sanato sanatorium, erected around 1915 on the slope of Antałówka, for decades was a showcase of Zakopane. The local press described them as “the most beautiful and healthiest place of Zakopane”, attracting not only patients, but also representatives of the world of culture and business. Thanks to Kornel Makuszyński's letters, even those who never left Warsaw heard about Sanato. The building, visible from afar among coniferous forests, was a symbol of then elegance and dreams of health and rest among Tatra landscapes.
Today, an abandoned and neglected object is to get a second life thanks to Core plans. – Our goal is to renew the monument, but above all to create the most luxurious hotel in Podhale, which will combine history with modern comfort – says Dawid Tatrek, managing director of Core. – As once in Zakopane, they were built with ambition and momentum, today we want to create a place here that will attract like the largest European resorts. Sanato is to become a showcase of Zakopane again – emphasizes the investor.
Architecture in harmony with tradition
Comprehensive renovation will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the monument conservator, with unique architectural details. The restored building of the former sanatorium will remain the central point of the projectwhich will be supplemented with modern low buildings. About 200 hotel rooms will be built in total.
The Bernatowicz Architecture studio, led by the native Zakopane, Aleksander Bernatowicz, is responsible for the concept and consistency with local architecture. – The inspiration for us was not only the architecture of the historical Sanato itself, But also other unique buildings of Zakopane, such as Hotel Panorama or Meteorological Observatory. We want the new buildings to harmoniously blend in with Antałówka's natural slope – explains the architect.
The accompanying buildings will be inspired by Zakopane style and in a harmonious way they will fit into the Tatra landscape and the natural shape of the Antałówka slope.
Luxury with the environment in mind
The designed hotel is to offer services at the highest level, including 24 -hour reception, swimming pools, wellness zone, saunas, restaurants and conference rooms. The investment responds to the growing needs of guests looking for high -quality luxurious solutions in a mountain resort.
The facility will also be environmentally friendly thanks to the use of innovative energy sources, such as geothermal, recuperation or hybrid ventilation. This is a response to contemporary standards of sustainable development in the hotel industry.
Park for all residents
The Antałówka revitalization project goes far beyond the hotel itself. It assumes the creation of a park with an area of 7,000 sq m, in which walking paths, viewpoints and even brine graduation tower will be built among the trees. The space will be enriched with places to rest, outdoor gym or educational pointsSo that Antałówka can pulsate with life all year round.
Core declares that the park may ultimately be put into full use of the city, which will significantly increase the availability of recreational areas for the inhabitants of Zakopane.
Benefits for the local community
Planned revitalization has a clear social and economic dimension. The hotel will create about 150 jobs and support local companies – from product suppliers to transport companies, cleaning companies, event service providers, taxi drivers or local sellers. The city can also gain due to tax revenues estimated at over PLN 1.3 million per year.
The hill, which is unavailable today, is to gain A special place on the map of Zakopane as a common space for walkersfamilies with children and people looking for a unique experience of staying with the panorama of the Tatra Mountains.
Antałówka's revitalization is a project with ambition, but above all with respect for local tradition, architecture and place history.
