PSD president Sorin Grindeanu stated, at the end of the Senate discussions between the leaders of the parties, that on Saturday the Social Democrats will definitively decide whether or not they enter the government. In the case of a favorable decision, the name of the ministers will be decided on Sunday.
“We will have meetings, even today. At large, we discussed the package of measures, I will not make ads related to the prime minister. We also discussed a calendar about the investment of the Government, given that the parties must go through their statutory steps,” said Sorin Grindeanu.
He avoided answering questions about VAT changes, stating that this announcement will have to be made by the designated prime minister Ilie Bolojan, after they will be finalized, following Saturday's discussions. Also on Saturday, the PSD triggers the internal proceedings related to governance.

“We will give tomorrow that vote that we had to give today, with the nearly 5,000 colleagues, presenting them at large these measures plus the main lines in the political agreement we will have. According to PSD sources, in the Senate discussions, only two reduced VAT quotas were agreed. What is charged with only 5% will gain a level of 9%, and what is at 9% will reach 19%. The only exception is keeping VAT for food and medicines at 9%
