The USR welcomes the decision of President Nicușor Dan to designate him for the position of prime minister Ilie Bolojan, who says it is a “clear signal that Romania can be governed with seriousness and common sense”.

“Ilie Bolojan's appointment for the position of prime minister is a clear signal that Romania can go forward with seriousness and respect for public money. We know it is difficult and there is a period of difficult decisions. There are too many Romanians who feel that they work hard, but they do not get the money. Too many Romanians have lost their confidence. Postponed for too many years, ”USR said in a statement.

“It's time for reforms”

At the same time, the party led by Dominic Fritz announces that it will support a new government led by Ilie Bolojan.

“Ilie Bolojan's proposal for the position of prime minister is the clear signal that Romania can be governed seriously and with common sense. USR will support this government and fight for reforms, reduce unnecessary expenses and support people who work honestly. It will be difficult. But it's time for reforms,” USR said.

Ilie Bolojan, interim president of the PNL, was appointed by Nicușor Dan to form the next government with which he will go to Parliament to receive the investment vote. The nomination for the position of prime minister was announced on Friday afternoon by the president in a press statement at the Cotroceni Palace.

The appointment of Ilie Bolojan for the post of prime minister comes at the end of almost four weeks of negotiations between the president and the PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and the group of national minorities for the formation of the future government. The participation in the government of the four parties is not yet official, the PSD will convene an internal referendum on the entry or not to the government.
