Earthquake in Iran. Took place near Tehran


“The earthquake took place at a moderately small depth of 35.0 km at the epicenter near Semnan in the province of Semnan in Iran in the evening on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 20.49 local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter and depth of the earthquake can be changed in the next few hours or minutes,” EMSC services inform. Currently, seismologists are analyzing data from Iran.

Information about the earthquake was also provided by the German Geological Research Center (GFZ). The shocks were felt in Semnan, in which nearly 125,000 live people and in Mahdishahr, where 21 thousand live people.
