The Mayor of Gorj complained to the Police after clearing snow from a road in another commune. What does an AUR advisor reproach him with?
Tense scenes in Gorj county, where two mayors from neighboring towns came into conflict after the mayor of a municipality cleared a road that belongs, administratively, to another administrative-territorial unit.

The mayor of the Samarinești commune, Iulian Giurgescu (PNL), claims that he intervened to ensure access to the village of Băzăvani, a locality under the administration of the commune he leads. It states that the said road has been cleared of snow several times over the years by its authority and that it has not caused any damage.
“If we didn't clear that section of the road, we couldn't reach the village of Băzăvani. We also intervened in the past. I woke up with a phone call from the police, that someone complained that I shouldn't have left the blade on the territory of another UAT. It was found that there was no damage to the road. What damage would there be with a blade with a rubber scraper for snow?”, stated Iulian Giurgescu, for Antena 3.
On the other hand, the mayor of the municipality of Motru, Costel Cosmin Morega (PSD), says that the referral came following findings made by a local AUR councilor, who lives in the area. He would have signaled possible destruction of the road following the intervention of the machine.
“From the pictures and videos seen, it is noticeable that water is flowing in the middle of the road and that the profile of the road has been affected somewhat. If it is a mistake, it is correcting. I don't think it was intentional, but maybe it was carelessness, haste or lack of experience. There are several factors to analyze.” explained the mayor of Motru.
The police arrived at the scene, however, found that the road was not destroyed, but only cleared of snow, and the intervention did not cause any material damage. The conflict between the two mayors reveals administrative tensions between the localities, which arose in the context of difficult weather conditions.
