The special USA for Ukraine Keith Kellogg plans to meet with the leader of Belarus Alaxander Lukashenka, “Reuters said, citing four sources similar to the case. The Belarusian opposition critically assessed these plans.

According to the Reuters agency, Kellogg intends to attempt to dynamize conversations about a truce between Russia and Ukraine, which are at a rank of point, and also wants to establish a dialogue with Belarus to reduce Russia's influence in this country.
The chairman of the opposition national anti -crisis board Paweł Patuszka informed on Wednesday that during meetings with representatives of the US authorities he emphasized that “all conversations with Belarus about the war and peace in Ukraine could take place provided that Lukashenko was recognized as an aggressor in this war.”
He added that the authorities in Minsk should also free over 1188 political prisoners, take an end to everyday repression, take specific steps to declare public and political life in Belarus, end the persecution of Belarusians in the country and abroad, and also start dialogue with a democratic majority.
Recently, at such a high level with a representative of the US administration, Lukashenko met with the secretary of State Mik Pompeo in 2020, when he visited Belarus. Then, during Trump's first term, the journey was intended to improve Washington's relations with Minsk.
With the beginning of the invasion of a full -scale Russia to Ukraine, the US embassy in Minsk suspended its activity because Belarus released its territory to conduct an attack on Ukraine in February 2022.
Ukraine: The meeting will not bring results
Advisor to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski, Mychajło Podolak, decided that the journey of a special US envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg to Belarus and his plans to meet with the leader of this country Alaxander Lukashenko will not bring results, “RBK-Ukraina said on Wednesday.
“It seems to me that Mr. Kellogg is looking for opportunities to expand the dialog with Russia. He believes that Lukashenko in a sense has subjectivity and can somehow influence Putin and wants to get another communication channel he will move,” said Podolak.
RBK-Ukraina wrote that according to Zelanski's advisor, this is a wrong strategy, because Łukaszenka has no influence on Putin.
Podolak estimated that China is the only country that can affect Russia's actions.
“However, China, firstly, have their own conflict with the United States. And China will certainly not be interested to help the US to obtain dividends in the context of a peace mission. China can play such a role themselves, but again – when?” He said.
