Summit G7. The leaders adopted six joint declarations


The declaration on artificial intelligence emphasized the potential of the development of AI technology, aimed at man's use and taking into account the effects on societies. The negative consequences of the rapid increase in the demand for electricity by the AI sector were also noticed. At the same time, the message emphasized the importance of AI for small and medium -sized companies, indicated threats to the labor market and the need for free data flow.
The declaration on quantum technology emphasized their military importance and threats to current data protection technologies. Hence, the declaration mentions the cooperation of governments, scientists and industry.
Critical minerals and their extraction and importance for national security, digital economy and energy have become the subject of another declaration. G7 leaders recognized the need for transparency of this industry and ensuring the safety of supply chains. Hence the idea for the action plan regarding critical minerals, which includes issues such as diversification of production and responsible extraction of raw materials and complying with common laws.
Summit G7. The most important findings
The leaders of the G7 also dealt with smuggling people, declaring an increase in security on borders and eliminating criminal smuggling groups, earning on migrants and trafficking in people. Hence the task for interior and security ministers, that they will identify cash flows, which indicate the connections of smugglers.
In the declaration on cross -border repression, the G7 leaders condemned such repression, which may be, for example, persecution of dissidents and immigrant environments, considering them as an aggressive form of foreign influence in the Member States.
Finally, the leaders of the G7 adopted a declaration regarding forest fires whose scale is increasing and committed to cooperation in counteracting fires.
The Canadian media pointed out that there was no customary joint message after the meeting of the G7 leaders, there was also no joint declaration on Ukraine. According to media reports, giving up a joint message and replacing it with declarations in specific matters was the idea of Prime Minister of Canada Marek Carney. This year, Canada is chaired by the work in group G7.
However, among the invited guests was the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelnski. Canada announced on Tuesday about new help for Ukraine, including $ 2 billion military assistance and sanctions for Russia. On Tuesday, the chairwoman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen told journalists present at the summit that although the crisis in the Middle East has now become leading, Ukraine is important for G7 countries and can count on their support.
In addition to seven member states, groups, which are France, Japan, Canada, Germany, Italy, Great Britain and the USA, the European Union as an organization also participates in the G7 works.
