The mission is finally accomplished: Tom Cruise will receive an honorary Oscar – the American Film Academy announced on Tuesday – for its entire rich career, during which the supreme distinction always escaped, AFP and Agerpres reports.

The 62 -year -old actor, who recently concluded the “mission: impossible” saga, is considered by many to be one of the last big cinema stars, capable of filling the cinema with its name.

After the pandemic, this fanatic of the stunts was even seen as the Savior Hollywood, due to the success of the movie “Top Gun: Maverick”, for which he dressed the hunting pilot suit again.

But, despite four Oscar nominations – as an actor for “Born July 4”, “Jerry Maguire” and “Magnolia” and as a producer for “Top Gun: Maverick” – was never a winner.

“Tom Cruise's incredible commitment to our film community, the experience in the hall and the stunt community inspired us all,” Janet Yang said in a statement.

This honorary Oscar will be handed to him at the Government Awards ceremony that will take place on November 16th.

The Academy also announced that he will hand over other honorary Oscar awards during the actress Debbie Allen, the Wynn Thomas set and singer Dolly Parton, recognized for his humanitarian commitment.
