Against the background of intensifying the military conflict between Israel and Iran, the leader of Ankara warns that the actions of the Israeli Prime Minister are a major threat to regional security and international order.

Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a new attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, June 17, which he considers the “biggest threat” in the Middle East. The statement was made in a telephone call with the Qatar Emir and was publicly transmitted by the Ankara Presidential Administration, according to AFP, quoted by Agerpres.

Recep Erdogan stressed that he will continue to make diplomatic efforts to end the current “spiral of violence in the region” and accused the government led by Benjamin Netanyahu of endangering the stability and security not only of Israel, but of the whole region.

“Netanyahu again showed that it is the biggest threat to Security in the Middle East.” Recep Erdogan is quoted in an official press release of the presidency.

The day before, on June 16, Erdogan had also a discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he reiterated his position on the actions of Israel. The Turkish leader has accused Israel of feeding regional tensions through his attacks on Iran.

“President Erdogan said that the spiral of violence initiated by Israel's attacks on Iran endangers the security of the whole region and that the illegal attitude of the government (Benjamin) Netanyahu is a clear threat to the international system,” the Turkish presidency announced in a statement on June 16.

The statements of the President of Turkey come against the background of the direct conflict between Israel and Iran, started on Friday morning, when the Israeli forces launched a series of bombings on some targets in Iran. The motivation invoked by the authorities of Tel Aviv is the concern about the accelerated pace of the Iranian nuclear program and the potential threat represents the ballistic missiles developed by Tehran.

Since then, Israeli aviation has hit major military infrastructures – air defense systems, strategic nuclear, Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow strategic systems. Also, the targets included high -ranking officials of the Guardians of the Revolution and scientists involved in the Iranian nuclear program.

For his part, Iran responded by launching rockets on the Israeli territory, attacks that caused the death of 24 people, according to data provided by the MDA emergency service in Israel.
