Meta Platforms is increasingly investing in advertisements generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), in an attempt to reduce costs and simplify the process of creating advertising.
The Meta already allows the creation of advertising images, starting from text commands, and in October announced the possibility of transforming images into GIF generated by AI.
Meta has now announced a new “Image-to-Video” type tool that allows the transformation of products of products, into video clips to which the AI adds sound, but also text, writes Bloomberg. To begin with, you can start from at most 20 photos.
Meta would like the full automation of advertisements, with AI, wrote the Wall Street Journal recently.
The social media giant aims to, by the end of next year, brands to create and direct commercials, with AI, said the sources quoted by the WSJ.
Generating advertisements from scratch with AI could be a great advantage for small companies that do not have generous budgets for creative production. However, there are a number of risks, from possible inadequate content, to the video quality of the advertisements generated automatically.
With the new developing tools, a brand could upload an image of the product they want to promote and indicate an estimated budget. The AI would then generate the entire advertisement-image, video, text-and would decide to whom to be shown on Facebook and Instagram, providing suggestions on the budget.
Artificial intelligence has become a central element of the Meta's advertising division, which generates 98% of the company's annual revenues. Most of the advertising clients of Meta are small businesses, and the lower the cost of creating content, the more they can invest in promoting on Facebook or Instagram.
