In Krasnoyarsk, bank employees and police officers saved an 87-year-old woman from transferring money to scammers. This was told in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

The pensioner applied to the bank to withdraw 1.8 million rubles from her account. Employees of the financial organization drew attention to the excited view of the client and asked why she needed the money. The pensioner replied that the funds need to be rented, as it became “it was difficult to go to the bank every time.”

During the conversation, banking workers realized that the woman acts at the direction of scammers and called the police. It turned out that a few days earlier, the elderly Krasnoyarsk called unknown people and, under the pretext of replacing it, lured passport data.

“A couple of days later the“ lawyer ”contacted the victim. The attacker told the pensioner that her data became known to the scammers. The interlocutor convinced the victim that she could help expose the criminals, for this she needed to remove all the savings and transfer them to a “safe account,” law enforcement officers said.

A criminal case has been instituted on the fact of an attempt on fraud by police investigators.

The police remind: be more attentive to your loved ones, communicate with them more often, specify who called them and when, talk about different schemes of deception.
