Employers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory can receive state support for the employment of previously convicted

Employers can receive compensation for expenses for the salary of workers over 30 years old, exempted from places of imprisonment or serving punishment in the form of forced labor. The measure is provided for by the state program of the Krasnoyarsk Territory “Assistance to Employment”.
Candidates for vacant places are selected by the regional employment service. In 2025, it is planned to employ at least 100 such citizens. At the moment, 33 residents of the region have already gained workplaces on subsidized hire.
Among the employers are a shoe company, a reinforced concrete plant, a polypropylene production company, a motor vehicle, a light of metal structures, a management company and others.
“According to this program, we have employed two candidates from among the townspeople who are released from institutions who are punished in the form of imprisonment. Young people are employed by an equipment adjuster and deputy chief of production of a reinforcing workshop. The guys have mentors, they were well accepted in the team. Today, one of the young people receives higher education, and we support it in every possible way that highly qualified personnel work in the staff, ”said Inessa Viktorova, head of the personnel department of the Krasnoyarsk plant of reinforced concrete products No. 1.
Organizational issues related to the employment of the applicant are taken by the employment service. Each candidate is assigned a personal career consultant.
“This year, the categories of participants in subsidized hiring were expanded. Previously, financial support was provided for the employment of citizens who were exempted from a conclusion. Now the employer also has the right to claim compensation for an employee who had previously served his sentence in the form of forced labor. Within the framework of the direction, two tasks are solved at once: ensuring the real sector of the economy and reducing crime relapse enterprises, ”Viktor Novikov, head of the labor and employment agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, commented on.
It should be noted that in 2024 31 applicants from among the previously convicted were employed. In total, with the assistance of the employment service, 12.2 thousand citizens have been employed from the beginning of the year. The unemployment rate is 0.6 %. This year, 6.3 thousand employers of the region provided information about 81.8 thousand vacancies to the employment service. The greatest need for personnel is declared for working professions. Specialists in the production sector, construction, rural and forestry are in demand.
