By decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated October 31, 1980, the regional newspapers “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” (12+) and “Birobidzhaner Stern” (12+) were awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor for their fruitful work in the communist education of workers and mobilizing them to carry out the tasks of economic and cultural construction.
The newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” for November 2, 1980 published Decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on awarding the regional newspapers “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” and “Birobidzhaner Stern” with the Order of the Badge of Honor.
Also, the same newspaper contains congratulations from the Regional Committee of the CPSU and the regional Council of People's Deputies, which congratulate editorial teams, correspondents, and printers on being awarded the Order of Honor for their fruitful work in the communist education of the region's workers. “Currently, the efforts of newspaper journalists and their numerous contributors are aimed at inspiring workers, collective farmers, and employees of the region with their bright printed words to successfully complete the national economic plans of the Tenth Five-Year Plan and a worthy meeting of the next 26th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
The regional committee of the CPSU and the regional Council of People's Deputies express their firm confidence that newspapers will continue to be fighting assistants of the regional party organization, active fighters for the implementation of Lenin's ideas, for building a communist society in our country.”
