At the Ghica Palace in Bucharest, the ordinary convent of the Great National Lodge of Romania (MLNR) was recently held, where, by secret vote, the new great master was chosen. The supreme function in Romanian masonry will be occupied in the next two years by Adrian Dragomirescu.

An exciting moment of the event was the entry into the temple of the founding members of the MLNR, receiving the longest master of the past, Manole Iosiper, present at the venerable age of 87, according to cancan.ro.

Who is the new great master

Adrian Dragomirescu, the new leader of the Romanian Masonry, is 70 years old and is a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications. In 1990, he founded a company specialized in sign and is part of the order since 1996.

“I assume this mission with honor and responsibility. I will continue the tradition of balance, Transparency and brotherhood that defines the Great National Lodge in Romania. I believe in the force of values that unite us and the power to build together, with dignity and wisdom”, Stated Adrian Dragomirescu.

At the end of the ceremony, the great secretary of the past transmitted, on behalf of the great council, a message of appreciation and gratitude to the Most Respectable Brother Vlad Năstase, great master of the immediate past, for the worthy and efficient leadership during the two years of mandate.

145 years of modern Masonic history in Romania

The event was also marked by the 145th anniversary of the “Lights”, the founding act of modern Romanian masonry, held on September 8/20, 1880 under the leadership of Colonel Constantin Moroiu, the first great teacher and veteran of the War of Independence.

Since the resumption of activity in 1993, the Great National Lodge in Romania has publicly affirmed as an active supporter of moral, cultural and civic values.
