The court sentenced doctors in pandemic trials. “They propagated anti -health activities”

On Friday, the District Medical Court in Poznań found seven doctors guilty of anti-healthy action during the Covid-19 pandemic. These are the first rulings in the country in such cases. Four medics were punished with a reprimand, one reminder, and in two cases of less weight was discontinued.

The case concerns medics who, during the Covid -19 pandemic, were to disseminate the views incompatible with the current medical knowledge, acting – according to the Supreme Ombudsman for professional liability – to the detriment of patients. A total of over 100 doctors are responsible for such action, before professional courts in Poznań, Wrocław and Gdańsk.

The Poznań trial of 19 doctors began in March 2023. At that time, however, the court decided to refer the case to supplement by the Supreme Ombudsman. In turn, during the second meeting, in May this year, the case of 9 doctors was separated for separate proceedings, which were scheduled for July 4.

A spokesman for the Wielkopolska Medical Chamber, Maria Kaczorowska, announced that during the Friday meeting the District Medical Court Wil found 7 doctors guilty and pursuant to art. 83. The Act on medical chambers punished four of them with reprimands, and one accused was demanded. In two cases, the court decided to discontinue the penalty.

Kaczorowska added that by Friday's court decision, the case of the other three doctors was referred to separate proceedings.

“The trials also take place before disciplinary courts of medical chambers in Wrocław and Gdańsk. OSL WIL was the first to leave sentences” – emphasized Kaczorowska.

The chief spokesperson for professional responsibility sent a request to punish a total of 114 doctors who, between October and December 2020, were to disseminate information “incompatible with current medical knowledge and promote anti -health attitudes”. It is about the signing of the “open letter of Polish doctors, scientists and healthcare workers to the Polish authorities and the media of October 5, 2020.” and two appeals of “scientists and doctors regarding vaccination at SARS-COV-2 coronavirus”. In an open letter, among others They undermined the sense of vaccination and the obligation to use protective masks. (PAP)
