US President Donald Trump has blocked an Israeli plan to kill Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, two US officials said on Sunday for Reuters.

“Did the Iranians kill an American? No. Until they do it, we don't even talk about attacking political leadership,” said one of the sources, a high -ranking official from the American administration.

The two sources of Reuters, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said that high American officials were in constant communication with the Israeli side after the attack launched by the Israeli forces on Iran on Thursday night.

According to sources, the Israelis reported that they had the opportunity to kill the Iranian leader, but Trump made him give up the plan.

Officials did not mention if Trump himself sent the message, but the US president frequently dialoged with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“There are so many false stories about conversations that have never taken place and I will not go into details about it,” Netanyahu told Fox News on Sunday when he was asked about the article in Reuters.

“But I can tell you that I think we do what we need to do, we will do what we need to do. And I think the United States knows what's good for the United States,” added the Israeli Prime Minister.

Donald Trump has continued to hope that negotiations between the US and Iran will be resumed on the Iranian nuclear program. The scheduled discussions to be held on Sunday in Oman were canceled as a result of the conflict between Israel and Iran.

The President of the US, who has not excluded a possible American involvement in the conflict, has launched a warning to Iran.

“If we are attacked in any way by Iran, the whole strength and power of the American army will deviate over you with an intensity that is not reached so far. However, we can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel and put an end to this bloody conflict!”, Wrote Donald Trump on Sunday.
