Tens of thousands of people went out to the street on Sunday to protest against the Israeli sieel in Gaza and Dutch government policy, Reuters reports.

The organizers claim that Sunday's protest, the second major manifestation in a month, has gathered 150,000 people. The participants dressed in red to create “a red line” against the Israeli attacks in Gaza and the alleged war crimes against the Palestinians.

The demonstrators sang, held speeches and made a march next to the International Court of Justice, where there is a case filed by South Africa with genocide accusations against Israel. Last year, the court ordered Israel to stop a military attack on the city of Rafah, southern Gaza, and allow access to humanitarian aid.

Israel rejects the accusations of war crimes and genocide and claims that its military operations are for self -defense, aiming at the Palestinian militant group.

The war in Gaza started about 20 months ago, after the attack by Hamas in Israel on October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian organization took 251 hostages and killed 1,200 people, most civilians.

The military campaign then launched by Israel killed nearly 55,000 Palestinians, according to the health authorities in Gaza, and turned a large part of the dense populated enclave into ruins, which houses over two million people. Most population has been relocated, and malnutrition is widespread.

Israel is also in conflict with Iran on Thursday night, when Israeli forces have launched an extensive offensive operation in order to stop Tehran's nuclear program, which in the meantime has reached.

In May, the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caspar Veldkamp, currently interim, asked the European Union to reconsider the cooperation agreements with Israel. On Sunday, the protesters asked the interim government to rule against what they called continuous violations of international law by Israel.

The Dutch government, which collapsed on June 3, refrained from directly criticizing Israel. The populist Antimusulman Geert Wilders, whose far-right party led the last government, has repeatedly expressed its unwavering support for Israel.
