In Rus' on this day, the holiday of the Green Wednet was celebrated – or, as it was also called, a bunker. It is one of the old Russian rites. What is its essence, now it’s hard to say for sure. However, it is known that the villagers on this holiday gathered in the morning for the outskirts, and then walked in a crowd in the streets and sang songs that they dedicated to pairs that combined marriage this year.

In the evening, the youth gathered for games. The girls drove round dances and weaved wreaths from a loaf – for happiness, on the narrowed. As they said, “weaved their future thoughts.” Well done fought fists and fought one on one.

Houses on this day were decorated with birch branches and wreaths. A freshly baked loaf was necessarily placed on the table.
