The incident involving 137 passengers who wanted to reach Greece was recently reported in the international press.
The condor flight de1234 took off on May 24 from Zurich, Switzerland, with Heraklion, in Crete (Greece). There were 137 passengers and six crew members on board the plane. The journey, which should have taken under three hours, has been 32 hours to last, according to the New York Post.
A representative of the Condor airline for the People's publication that “because of strong winds, deposits and landings at Heraklion Airport have been possible only under limited conditions.”
He also said that despite several landing attempts in Heraklion, the flight could not be operated according to the plan and was diverted several times.
According to Flightradar24, the plane has been overcome several times the coast of Crete before turning to Athens for a landing. During the 32 hours, the plane made four stops and had a night stop at Thessaloniki. The aircraft stopped twice in Athens and once on the island of Kos, before returning to Switzerland.
The airline said that passengers were offered food and drinks. They were also paid the accommodation at the hotel in Thessaloniki. However, some passengers complained that the foods offered by the condor were insufficient, and others said they had to pay their accommodation at the hotel alone.
