Iran launched two waves of ballistic missiles to Israel on Friday night, the official IRNA agency, quoted by Reuters, announced. According to an Israeli military official, about 100 missiles were launched in the first wave. Shortly after, a second missile attack was announced.

Witnesses quoted by international agencies reported that they heard more explosions above Tel Aviv, while air raid sirens have been triggered in numerous areas, including Jerusalem.

Israel's defense forces (IDF) have announced that they have identified rockets launched from Iran and that air defense systems are active to intercept attack. The authorities asked the population to shelter in safe spaces.

“Our revenge has just begun, they will pay a high price for killing the commanders, scientists and our people,” a high -ranking Iranian official said.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense accused Iran of “exceeding a red line” by targeting the populated areas and warned that Tehran will pay a “very high price”. “Iran will pay expensive because he targeted civilians,” said an Israeli official, quoted by CNN.

According to Magen David Adom Emergency Service, several missiles fell in the Tel Aviv – Ramat Gan area, slightly or moderately injuring seven people.

The Israeli police warned the population to avoid the places where rockets fell and mobilized special teams to ensure the perimeter and the intervention of the geniuses. Authorities have asked citizens not to reach unexploded residues or possible ammunition.

The rocket attack launched by Iran on Friday night was preceded by a series of Israeli air blows on some Iranian strategic targets, starting on Thursday night. The Israeli army had announced shortly before the Iranian attack that it was acting “with full strength” to achieve its goals, including the destruction of Iran's military and nuclear infrastructure.

The head of the Israeli army, General Eial Zamir, had stated that the offensive would continue in a “sustained rhythm” and warned that difficult times are coming: “a very high level of training and discipline is needed.”
