What prices awaits us after 1 July

Currently, the price of electricity is capped until June 30, for a consumption equal to 100 kWh being perceived a price of 0.68 lei/kWh, 0.8 lei/kWh for a consumption between 100.01 and 255 kWh and for customers with monthly consumption between 255.01 and 300 kWh exclusively for the consumption of the first 255 kWh. The price of 1.30 lei/kWh (VAT included) is applicable for customers with monthly consumption between 100.01 and 300 kWh, exclusively for electricity consumption exceeding 255kWh, as well as in full for domestic customers whose monthly consumption is more than 300 kWh/month.

The PPC sent its customers to the offer for July 1, 2025 – May 27, 2026, which includes the price of the daily subscription for each place of consumption and the price for the electricity consumed, including excise duties, VAT, transport, services and distribution rates.

Thus, starting with July 1, 2025, if the measure of capping the electricity prices is not prolonged, the PPC will charge a unique kilowat tariff of 1.55 lei, to which is added the price of the daily subscription for the place of consumption, of 0.43 lei.

Another great supplier of electricity, Electrica Funiza has an active energy price of 0.842 lei/kWh, to which are added the regulated tariffs and taxes, so that the final price will be between 1.50 and 1.59 lei/kWh, depending on the client's distribution area, according to profit.ro.

Premier Energy (former CEZ sale) proposes an active energy price of 0.84 lei/kWh, the final price reaching 1.50 and 1.58 lei/kWh, depending on the network area.

The only big supplier with a reduced offer by almost 50% is Hidroelectrica, which practices a supply price of 0.45 lei/kWh, the final price reaching 1.03-1.19 lei/kWh, depending on the distribution area.

Hidroelectrica does not know how much she can hold the lowest price

The State Company Hidroelectrica has warned that he cannot guarantee that he will continue to offer, and after July 1, the energy with the lowest price in Romania, stressing instead, like other companies, will adapt “market conditions“.

“No one can offer such guarantees, we will have to have the rest of the actors in the energy market, to adapt to the market conditions, the energy market in Romania being quite complicated in recent years due to the non -existence of sufficient capacities of electricity in the band”, the representatives of Hidroelectrica asked the question of a journalist.

However, compared to other suppliers, “We can find ourselves in the situation of being more predictable from the perspective of the existence of the quantities of electricity available to be provided to our customers.“. As before, Hidroelectrica will continue to rely on its own production,”only a smaller amount of energy provided by purchases from outside the company ”.
