A 40 -year -old man from Copăceni commune, Vâlcea county, was detained on Thursday, June 12, by DIICOT prosecutors after the authorities found dozens of cannabis plants in his home.
“On June 12, 2025, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Offenses – the Vâlcea Territorial Office ordered the detention of a 40 -year -old defendant, investigated for committing the crime of drug trafficking.
The evidence administered revealed that, during December 2024, the defendant initiated and developed, in his house in Copăceni commune, Vâlcea county, a cannabis cultureintended for marketing ”transmits DIICOT Vâlcea.
Following the searches, the authorities found and confiscated 44 cannabis plants (in pots) in different stages of development, with the dimensions at the stem between 60-140 cm, various components of a culture maintenance installation, fertilizers, a grinder, as well as other means of proof.
As a result, the man was detained and the judge of rights and freedoms of the Vâlcea Court is to be notified with a proposal for its preventive arrest, for 30 days.
The judicial activities were carried out together with the police officers of the Organized Crime Fighting Service. The act benefited from the support of the gendarmes of the County Inspectorate of Gendarmes Vâlcea.
