The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a yellow code hydrological warning on Monday, valid until Tuesday, June 10, at 09:00.

Specialists warn that important leaks can be recorded on slopes, torrents and streams, but also fast floods on small rivers, at risk of local floods.

The phenomena can occur with higher probability and intensity on some small rivers in Prahova, Buzău and Vrancea ”counties”is shown in the inhga statement.

The counties and rivers targeted

The yellow code issued by INHGA targets several hydrographic basins and rivers from 18 counties of the country. These include the Olt river, where the tributaries from Sibiu, Vâlcea and Argeș counties are affected, as well as the Vedea river, in the areas located in Olt, Argeș and Teleorman counties.

The Argeș River is targeted in the upper sector and in the tributaries of the middle and lower basin, in Argeș, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Teleorman and Ilfov counties. On the Ialomița river, the danger is present upstream of the Moroeni hydrometric station and in the downstream sector to Siliștea Snagov, in Dâmbovița, Prahova and Ilfov.

On the Prahova river, possible floods are expected in the mountain areas, but also in the middle and lower parts of the basin, in the counties of Prahova and Ialomița. The tributaries of the Ialomița river, from the downstream sector from the confluence with the Prahova river, can cause problems in Ialomița, Buzău and Prahova counties.

In Buzău, Covasna and Prahova counties, the tributaries of the Buzău river are targeted, especially in the sector between the Siriu accumulation and the money hydrometric station. Also, in Neamț and Bacău, rapid increases in debts can be recorded on the tributaries of the Bistrița river, downstream of the Frunzeni station.

The Trotuș River, with pools in Harghita, Bacău, Neamț, Covasna and Vrancea counties, also presents a hydrological risk, as well as the Bârlad river, in the Vaslui, Bacău, Galați and Vrancea sector. In Vrancea county, the basins of Putna and Râmnicu Sărat rivers are also targeted, and in Vrancea and Galați – small tributaries of the Siret river, downstream of the confluence with Trotuș.

InHGA representatives emphasize that dangerous phenomena can also appear on lower -order tributaries of the mentioned rivers, but also on non -discounted water courses in the targeted basins.
