United Russia launches preliminary voting in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The first meeting of the regional organizing committee to conduct preliminary voting for the subsequent nomination of candidates for elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was held in Krasnoyarsk. The United Russia voting itself will traditionally take place according to the first, most open model, when all registered voters in the region can take part in it.

The organizing committee included politicians, SBO participants, experts, representatives of public organizations, and the media. The meeting was opened by the chairman of the organizing committee, secretary of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch, governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov. He noted that United Russia has been determining its candidates for 17 years through the preliminary voting procedure:

“The basic principles of United Russia’s preliminary voting remain unchanged: legitimacy, transparency and competitiveness. The tone and content of the entire election campaign largely depends on how organized and disciplined the preliminary voting is. “United Russia” remains the only political party in the country that selects candidates for deputies at all levels through an open popular vote. This procedure is mandatory for all candidates, regardless of status, rank and experience. Anyone can try their hand at politics and offer their ideas for the further development of the region and the country. The party lists will include those candidates who enjoy the support of voters, understand the problems and protect their interests.”

Acceptance of applications for participation in the preliminary voting starts on March 11 on the website pg.er.ru, and ends on April 30. Voter registration, which will traditionally take place through the State Services portal, will begin on April 20 and end on May 29. Voting will take place from May 25 to May 31 in electronic format with identification confirmation through the State Services portal. Any resident who has a residence permit in the Krasnoyarsk Territory can take part in the election of candidates.

Members of the organizing committee agreed on the procedure and timing of the procedure and determined a package of documents for candidates. Not only members of United Russia, but also non-party members can try their hand at politics. The main features of the procedure in 2026: preservation of preferences for SBO participants – 25% of the result obtained, the possibility of training and support at the Higher Party School site. In addition, all candidates must decide whether they will be elected in single-mandate constituencies or on a list. And as a result of the procedure, each candidate must acquire party status – either a supporter or a party member.
