Hamas leader is dead. Israel's army confirms

“This is another example of Hamas cynical use of civilians as live shields, using civil infrastructure, hospitals, again and again,” said Reuters agency spokesman for the armed forces, General Effie Defin. “We found several rooms under the hospital, just under the House of Emergency Room. In one of them we found the corpse of Mohammed Sinwar,” he added.
According to the spokesperson, the tunnel was the main command and control center of Hamas in the Chan Junus region.
Sinwar was the younger brother of Jahji Sinwar, the late terrorist leader of the Hamas attack and the organizer of the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023, in which 1,200 people were killed, about 250 were abducted to the Gaza Zone and which initiated the ongoing war.
During the search of the tunnel, Israeli soldiers found weapons, ammunition, cash and documents that are currently checked in terms of intelligence value. “We will eliminate Hamas because we cannot live with this terrorist organization in our yard, just behind our border,” Defin told journalists, whom the army enabled the entrance to the tunnel on Sunday.
