Return of the power fee. What awaits us in electricity bills since July?

Until now, the rules for suspending the power fee have enabled lower energy bills. However, in 2025, rates from PLN 2.86 to PLN 16.01 net of net per month, depending on the total power consumption, were foreseen.
The Energy Regulatory Office on Friday posted the final results of the supplementary auction at the 2nd half of 2025, and the minister did not decide to annul them. In practice, this means that from July a power fee in the indicated amount will be charged, and its final level at 2025 will be determined in September 2024.
What is the power fee?
This is an additional receivable that is to guarantee the country's energy security. The mechanism is based on rewarding producers for readiness to provide the right amount of power to the national network to avoid interruptions in deliveries.
According to the assumptions of the legislator, the stability and continuity of the power supply are crucial, which is why the power fee has been included in the structures of the electricity account. The assumption is to support investments in energy infrastructure and ensure electricity availability, especially during periods of the greatest demand.
New power fee rates
As previously announced, Persons consuming below 500 kWh per year will pay PLN 2.86 net per month. For consumer farms A fee of PLN 6.86 net of PLN 6.86 is provided between 500 kWh and 1200 kWh.
In turn, families that use energy in the range from 1200 kWh to 2800 kWh, will be charged with PLN 11.14 net per month. The highest rate, reaching PLN 16.01 net, applies to recipients exceeding 2800 kWh per year.
The average household in Poland consumes about 2,000-2,500 Energy kwh per year, which indicates that Most users will be in the upper calculations. This means that the return of the power fee can significantly affect the final accounts for electricity.
Although the power fee itself is only one of the elements of energy settlement, its introduction has a significant impact on the total amount of payment. The temporary suspension was to alleviate the effects of rising prices, but as June this buffer will stop functioning.
