Mariusz Balcerzak explains that the long -awaited strawberry season from the field is starting, which thanks to the sun is much sweeter. You can collect strawberries at the plantation yourself – then they cost PLN 8 per kilo.

Although they are willing, this year it is not easy for him. “It's a very strange season. Since I deal with strawberries, in terms of crops, I didn't have such a bad year” – said Mariusz Balcerzak in an interview with “Fakt”. “Well, in such a situation it is difficult to talk about profitability. However, I talk to my friends from the Lublin region, where there was no such dramatic frost and everything looks good” – he added.
Strawberry prices. A year ago it was the opposite
The SAD24.pl industry portal describes that this season in terms of prices is the opposite of the 2024 season, because there are no violent bursts. “A year ago, the strawberry season was characterized by a cumulative supply. At the end of May, at the same time, the last parts of strawberries from accelerated tunnel cultivation, strawberries from under foil and agrotextile, the first parts of the ground, varieties repeating fruiting and import fruit …” – read. At that time, strawberries of the worst quality could cost only PLN 4 per kilo, which was fatal for trade. A year ago, June 5 was after the largest spill of fruit.

The portal indicates that now growers are dealing with a dream scenario – strawberries from Greece, a tunnel and foil will disappear. “Until then, deliveries from traditional cultivation will systematically increase,” describes SAD24.pl.
