In Ukraine, “critical” organizations that can book priests were determined. There are almost 8 thousand of them.


A document approved by the GASS is called “a list of legal entities – religious organizations that belong to critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensure the life of the population in a special period.”

The civil service said that at first she received an exhaustive list of religious organizations in the status of legal entities from the “national information systems”, and then reduced it. In particular, the legal entity was selected, registered no later than December 26, 2024 (there were 30 148 of them).

“As a result, the final list of 7726 religious organizations was formed. […] To carry out reservation through “di” religious organizations must provide the GASS: confirmation of the employment of clergy; confirmation of the status of a clergyman in accordance with the internal attitudes of a religious organization; The staffing of the religious organization (maximum number of clergymen ”), the report said.

The list has religious societies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as well as other areas of Christianity.

“The GISS continues to study the issue of the presence of the affiliation of the first of several thousand religious organizations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – the Kyiv Metropolitan of the UOC. Therefore, the verification of the third criterion – to include a religious organization in the list of affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church – will be carried out sequentially taking into account the results of the study regarding the Kyiv metropolis of the UOC,” the GASS explained.
