An American secret services agent has provided information sensitive to the Federal Intelligence Service (BND, external espionage) from frustration towards the administration of US President Donald Trump, DPA, taken over by AGERPRES.

About this case he was following an investigation by the public WDR and NDR public television stations and the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper. The BND immediately informed the American authorities about the incident, the journalistic investigation shows.

The civilian employee of the Defense Information Agency (DIA) was detained under the suspicion of spy in the US state a week ago.

The FBI did not reveal to which the countries intended the suspect to transmit information at the time of his detention, but according to the journalistic investigation, the suspect would have contacted the BND in early March by anonymous e-mail, and the German Intelligence Service contacted the American counterpart.

“The BND does not publicly comment on issues related to the conclusions or activities of information services. This does not imply that the information is correct,” said a spokeswoman for the DPA service.

After the arrest of Nathan Vilas L. on May 30, FBI announced that he had access to strictly secret information and provided secret materials to a “foreign friend”. In an e-mail, the suspect said that his reason was that he did not agree with the “values” promoted by the Trump administration.

According to investigators, the suspect exchanged messages with a FBI agent, which was given as an agent of the foreign government. On May 1, he provided the first installment.

The man was detained at the next delivery. If he is convicted of espionage, the 28 -year -old risks a prison sentence.

US national security experts have warned that recent massive federal dismissals could cause dissatisfied employees to orient themselves to espionage in favor of foreign governments for revenge.
